Lionel Andrés "Leo" Messi born 24 June 1987 in Rosario, Argentina.
At the age of five, he started playing football for Grandoli, a club
coached by his father. In 1995, Messi switched to Newell's Old Boys.
At the age of 11, he was diagnosed with a growth hormone deficiency.
Messi is an Argentine footballer who plays for FC Barcelona and captains the
Argentina national team, mainly as a striker. Messi received several Ballon
d'Or and FIFA World Player of the Year nominations by the age of 21,
and won in 2009and 2010.
